Does water need to be treated?
After use, water is extremely degraded. It actually contains many polluting substances (for instance, the residues of detergents used to wash dishes or clothes) or other organic substances (for instance, human excrements). In many countries (but unfortunately not in all of them yet), these waters are collected through the sewage system, sent to a depurating system that removes its contaminants or reduces them to levels that are environmentally compatible and finally sends them back to their natural courses (rivers and lakes) and back to the sea.
