Uses
Water for civil use
The civil use of water includes human eating, the preparation of food, personal hygiene and the cleaning of households and public places. Obviously, in this case, it is not only the amount of water available that counts, but also the quality of that water. Many communities that have enough water available often cannot use it because it is contaminated. Just think, for instance, that also in some Italian towns tap water is not drinkable and so cannot be drunk. Man consumes comparatively little water, 13% - 19% of the overall household consumption. Over the last few years, the amount of water used for civil uses has more than doubled all over the world, due not only to the increase in the population, but also to an increased use by individual consumers. Interestingly, a US research shows that the presence of drinkable and good-quality water near a house adds 20% to its value.Related topics
