World hunger
The problem of the sustainability of the flora and in particular the uses that man makes of it in farming concerns not only the impact that this activity may have on the environment, but also to the potential production of an adequate amount of food to feed the increasingly growing population of the Earth. The United Nations’ recent demographic projections show that the world’s population will grow by 3.3 billion over the last fifty years: all these people will largely add up to the population of the developing countries and a large proportion will be born in already overcrowded areas.
To achieve an acceptable balance between the total number of people to be fed on Earth and the development of farming in a way that may be environmentally compatible and adequate to feed everyone properly is the awesome feat that is increasingly challenging the governments of all the countries of the world.
