Climate in the savannah is characterized by very high temperatures and poor rainfall. The land is covered with grass, and trees are quite rare, and offer a shaded area to all the mammals living in the savannah, such as lions, giraffes and elephants. The savannah extends across Africa, across South America, South East Asia, Northern Australia, Central America and the Caribbean.
