River of the Philippines

Rainforests are criss-crossed by myriad streams. The Amazonian reservoir, for instance, receives 22% of all the Earth’s surface freshwater. The Amazon is 6000 or 7000 km long, depending on where one places the springs, and receives water from 1100 tributaries. Its mouth opens over 250 kilometres and provides freshwater to the Atlantic up to 160 kilometres off the coast.
