Red-eyed tree frog

Many scientists believe that this frog has red eyes to frighten its predators. In fact this amphibian sleeps in the day time, obviously with its eyes well shut,  camouflaged among the leaves of the rain forest. If they are disturbed, they immediately open their red eyes and show their webbed orange feet and yellow striped sides –  making the predator,  such as  a bird or a snake, hesitate and they can jump away to safety!
