Nudibranchs (sea slugs)

The bright colours of nudibranchs are a sign of danger: in fact, predators that feed on them are stung by the urticant cells that the mollusc stores in the extroflexions of its intestine and which it ingests when feeding on coral polyps. Once the stinging prey is spat out, the predator will remember for the rest of its life that those colours belong to a really unpalatable food!
