Inventor of X-rays

In this vignette, dated 1895, entitled “The new camera by Roentgen”, fun is being made of the discovery of X rays, made by Roentgen in those years. Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen (1845-1923), German physicist, was awarded the Nobel Prize for physics in 1901 thanks to his discovery and application of X rays. Still nowadays these rays are a useful diagnosis tool (that is a tool to understand the causes of our illnesses), which is irreplaceable. (copyright CORBIS)
