Flying fox

Flying foxes are big bats living in Australia, in the south-east of Asia, in Africa and in the Pacific islands. They only eat fruit and flowers and for this reason they play an extremely important ecological role: they act as pollinators and scatter the seeds around, thus helping the forest grow. In Africa, for instance, these bats scatter the seeds of the iroko, a tree with a great commercial value.
