Electric energy from wind

The wind energy is also used to produce electric energy. If the sails that turn are connected to an electric generator, an electric current is produced. In this way, the wind energy, transformed into electric energy, can be transported to places which are far away from the production places and then used for manifold objectives. The wind energy is a renewable source. In the picture you can see a field of wind turbines in Palm Spring, California (United States). (Picture copyright CORBIS)
