Italy: 10 GW of photovoltaic power reached
In Italy, photovoltaic power has exceeded 10 GW of installed power in the national territory. Only in 2011 in fact, approximately 6,500 MW were installed, however it is estimated that at the end of 2011 the total power capacity in Italy could reach 12,000 MW, with a number of plants amounting to approximately 350,000. The trend of the current year, will place Italy in a leading position on a world scale, with regard to the installed power that has begun operation in 2011. In fact, when compared with Germany, the leader of the photovoltaic power market since over a decade, in 2011, Italy installed power that is three times the amount of that produced in the German territory.
