The largest photovoltaic park in Italy is located in Apulia

The largest photovoltaic park in Italy is now connected to the national grid. This was announced by the Danish company European Energy who completed this project just one year after the first phase of work. The plant is located in Apulia, near Foggia, and with its 275 thousand latest generation solar modules and an installed capacity of 103 MW exceeding the 84 MW of the Montalto di Castro photovoltaic park, setting a new record. The solar power plant is not only the national leader. Its capacity also makes it the 17th largest project in the world with a single connection point.

The plant covers an area of 1,500,000 square meters, which is equivalent to 200 football pitches: an area that when fully operational should guarantee a production of 150 GWh of electricity per year, enough to cover the electricity consumption of a city with 200,000 inhabitants, while saving more than 80,000 tons of CO2 emitted per year.
