All aboard, the Treno Verde is travelling again

The journey of the Treno Verde (Green Train) has begun again; this is the Legambiente and Italian State Railways train that each year stops at the major Italian railway stations to promote and motivate sustainable mobility and reduce pollution, focussing on intermodal transport, electric vehicles and sharing mobility. The Treno Verde 2019 will travel the whole length of Italy stopping in 12 stations: an interactive educational exhibition will be organised on the train to allow citizens and students to find out about the most innovative ideas on sustainable mobility and intermodal transport.

The calendar of stops is as follows:

  •  Palermo –  18, 19, 20 February
  • Palermo –  22, 23, 24 February
  • Naples Central –  26, 27, 28 February
  • Rome Termini – 2, 3, 4 March
  • Pescara – 6, 7, 8 March
  • Arezzo – 10, 11, 12 March
  • Civitanova Marche – 14, 15, 16 March
  • Rimini – 18, 19, 20 March
  • Padua – 22, 23, 24 March
  • Genoa Piazza Principe – 26, 27, 28 March
  • Turin –  30, 31 March, 1 April
  • Milan Porta Garibaldi – 3, 4, 5 April

Partners involved in the Treno Verde project include Ecopneus, EnelX e Ricrea, Bosch, Iterchimica, Montello, Valorizza, Con.Tec, Ecoplus, 100% Campania – Formaperta, Lime and Movecoin. Outfitting of the carriages, on the contrary, is supervised by the Academy of Arts and New Technologies in Rome.
