Treatment with lime trees
Some parts of the plants have healing properties: lime trees are among the most common ones. Lime trees (Tilia cordata) are some of the many plants that are grown to decorate parks, gardens and walks. Lime trees are considered to have many healing properties: their flowers have sedative, even mildly hypnotic, powers, an ideal treatment for nervous or sleepless people. This tree also contains tannins, pigments used pain killers. But the rest of the tree is also useful: its liber, located between the bark and the wood, is used to make paper, mats, wreath and garland frames, while its bark used to be used to make coarse materials and ropes, making textile fibres through scutching, an operation similar to the one used on flax and hemp.
