A hydrogen house

In Settimo, a municipality close to Turin, the first Unité d’Abitation has been created. This building works with a hydrogen system. It is four-storey building that will be occupied by offices (it is the seat of Asm utility company), in a condition of total energy autonomy. There are solar panels that produce energy, which will be partially directly used and partially used to extract (through electrolysis) hydrogen from water. The hydrogen can be accumulated as a reserve. After sunset, accumulated hydrogen will be used to guarantee the continuous functioning of the installation.
